Horses are not only prey animals, but also creatures of habit. Changes in their routine, such as moving to a new yard or the addition of a new group member, can make them just as nervous as unfamiliar events, such as attending a training clinic or competition, or unfamiliar noises like fireworks or the hunt passing in the nearby woods. It is naturally the role of the nervous system to regulate such exciting situations and keep stress hormones under control. OKAPI Calming Herbs are a pure herbal mixture that supports the nervous system in its task of responding appropriately to stressful situations, rather than panicking..
OKAPI Calming Herbs is suitable for adult horses of all ages and breeds.
OKAPI Calming Herbs can be easily combined with other products. We recommend combining it with OKAPI Relax.
We recommend giving the OKAPI Calming Herbs ideally one to two weeks before a planned “exciting” event, for a total duration of 14 days.
OKAPI Calming Herbs can be given dry over the feed or brewed as tea.
To calculate the appropriate dose for OKAPI Calming Herbs, the following steps can be followed:
Determine the horse’s weight: The weight of the horse can be determined either by weighing it, measuring it with a tape measure, or by using apps like the BCI app from our partner Sanoanimal (available for free on Google Play und Apple Store).
Follow the feeding recommendation: The general recommendation for OKAPI products is based on a 600 kg horse.
The recommended daily amount is 30 g to 50 g (approximately one handful).
Adjust the dose: If the horse weighs, for example, 300 kg, the dose should be adjusted accordingly. The calculation would be: Daily dose (50 g) / 600 kg × Horse’s weight (300 kg) = Daily ration (25 g). This calculation method allows you to determine the appropriate amount.
OKAPI Calming Herbs is a 100% herbal mixture containing: hop cones, vervain, lemon balm, valerian root, passionflower, chamomile, lavender flowers, ashwagandha root, and cinnamon.
